A storm threatens the boat while Jesus sleeps. The disciples wake him in fear, and the account describes his command bringing stillness to the wind and water. The illustration holds the moment within the violence of the sea: lifted arms, curved waves and crowded figures move against the steadier central presence. A close look reveals how engraved lines can suggest both darkness and breaking foam.
